ZTE may have faced challenges stateside recently, but they’re looking to get back on track, and what better way than by releasing a cutting edge folding smartphone? This design is based on a patent filed in April last year with the Global Design Database of the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office) and published on March 5, 2019. Rather than follow in the footsteps of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, this smartphone boasts a clamshell design that flips open to reveal a full-screen display, and in the back, there’s a dual camera setup. As you can see in the patent sketches, there are two buttons on the right side and directly below is the SIM card slot and memory compartment. From what we can tell, it charges via USB-C at the bottom and will most likely offer 5G connectivity. No front-facing camera is visible, so we can’t confirm whether or not the flexible display will a pinhole-style opening.
