The Fast and the Furious made its theatrical debut nearly 20-years ago (June 22, 2001), but the one vehicle that most remember throughout all of the films is Brian O’Conner’s (Paul Walker) Candy Orange Pearl 1994 Toyota Supra Mk4 finished in Troy Lee’s Nuclear Gladiator livery. One of these screen-used vehicles just sold for a whopping $550,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction today, setting a new record for most expensive Supra ever.
This movie car is powered by a factory turbocharged 2JZ-GTE 3.0L inline-six engine, mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Modifications include a BOMEX body kit, 19-inch Dazz Motorsport Racing Hart M5 Tuner wheels, and an APR aluminum rear biplane wing. With Fast 9 coming out next week in the US, some may not remember how this vehicle came out. In case you were wondering, Brian takes a damaged 1994 Toyota Supra to Dominic’s garage as a replacement and eventually races Vin Diesel’s character in a quarter-mile drag race, barely crossing a railroad before an oncoming freight train passes.
