It’s super rare to spot an NSX on the road, especially a 2003 Honda NSX-R, one of just 140 NA2 NSX-Rs made only for Japan, making it a dream car for Honda fans. While the original NSX was famously tuned with input from Ayrton Senna, the NA2 NSX-R took his influence to heart.
Each NSX-R engine was carefully hand-built by Honda’s best engineers, with parts fitted more precisely than a fancy watch. The 3.2L V6 makes 290 hp, but its quick response and 8,000-rpm limit make it feel like a race car engine for regular roads.

The NSX-R is super light—Honda used a carbon fiber hood, rear spoiler, and even made tiny parts like the shift knob lighter, cutting about 220 lbs compared to the standard NSX. At just 1,270 kg (2,800 lbs), it feels like a nimble supercar.

Most NSX-Rs are painted Championship White, a color tied to Honda’s racing history from its 1960s F1 cars. This shade (NH-0) is a classic for Type R models, instantly loved by Japanese car fans.

Inside, you get red Alcantara fabric and Recaro bucket seats, giving a race-car vibe. The cabin is simple, with no power steering or fancy extras, keeping the focus on the driving experience. Interested? You can bid on it during the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este Auction on May 25, 2025.
