It’s official, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz is back, and this time, not just as a concept. It will be based on the company’s Modular Electric Drive Kit (MEB), which is the world’s first scalable mass production platform for all-electric cars provides the cross-brand basis for all sorts of different models and segments. Both the 2024 ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo are launching across Europe with an 82 kWh that feeds a 150 kW electric motor generating 201 hp and 229 lb-ft of torque, enabling the vehicles to hit a top speed of 90 mph. As for charging, it can be charged at 11 kilowatts using a 240-volt Level 2 AC charging station or 170 kW with DC fast charging, with the latter boasting a 5% to 80% charge in just 30-minutes.The passenger version will be available in a five-seat configuration or a six-seat version and feature a 10.0-inch Digital Cockpit instrument cluster, ID.Light interactive lighting system, as well as multicolor ambient lighting inside, complete with wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto. This model is set to be launched in Europe later this year, while the US release has been set for 2024.
