Illumination teases the theatrical release of Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. Movie with a new Princess Peach training course clip. The story begins when plumbers Mario and brother Luigi end up in a magical new world after stumbling upon a mysterious warp pipe. Luigi ends up getting lost and Mario embarks on an epic quest to find him.
Thanks to Toad, a fellow Mushroom Kingdom resident, and some training from the strong-willed ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Peach, Mario taps into his own power. The film premiered in Los Angeles on April 1, 2023 and scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on April 5, 2023. However, it won’t open in Japan until April 28, 2023. So far, the film received mixed reviews from critics, who felt it prioritized nostalgia and references to the games over plot development.
