Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios announced their Mortal Kombat 1 reboot today, reimagining the MK universe with new heroes as well as villains. This reborn Mortal Kombat universe has been created by the Fire God Liu Kang and will be released on September 19 on the PS5, Xbox Series X | S, Nintendo Switch as well as PC platforms.
Story Mode returns and focuses on immersive cinematic narrative, classic rivalries as well as original backstories. Some familiar names include Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, and many more. The game will also introduce Kameo Fighters, which are partner characters that can assist during matches. Pre-orders begin tomorrow (May 19) for the Standard ($69.99), Premium ($109.99) and Kollector’s Edition ($249.99). The latter comes bundled with a 16.5-inch Liu Kang sculpture, a Liu Game in-game character skin, three exclusive art prints, a steel case, and 2,700 total Dragon Krystals.
