Buddhist Monk Prayer Mario Enemy
Yoshimichi Ishida, a real Buddhist monk from Japan, has become an internet sensation for this ritual of praying every time Mario kills an enemy in the original Super Mario Bros. game. That’s right, he stops playing immediately and recites a sutra so their soul will rest in peace.

Ishida does have some rules though, with the first one being that he is only responsible for deaths directly caused by him. This means that if an enemy walks off a ledge, no prayer is necessary. The second rule is that he’s allowed to jump on top of Koopa Troopas turtles once, as long as they’re on the ground, since that first jump merely causes them to shrink back into their shells.
