Samsung’s Slidable Flex Vertical display can slide up from 5.1-inches to 6.7-inches, making it perfect for smartphones. The fully expanded screen would still be slightly smaller than the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s 6.9″ panel, but when closed, its footprint would be much smaller than the iPhone 16.
There’s no magic to these sliding displays, as it’s just basically a screen or panel that can be physically moved horizontally along a track, allowing users to reveal different parts of a larger image or set of information. Some are motor-driven systems for automated sliding, but this one appears to have a manual mechanism that requires the user to physically slide the display up and down.
