Using your smartphone to project 3D holograms is a lot simpler than you think. Technically speaking, a parallax 3D hologram that utilizes the “parallax” effect, meaning that as the viewer moves their head, different parts of the 3D image appear to shift at different speeds.
To make this happen with a smartphone, you need a spinning mechanism, or in this case, a basic pottery wheel. However, achieving this effect doesn’t require a pottery wheel, just something similar that enables you to match the speed of the image to that of the smartphone’s rotation. The example you see here uses pre-spun 3D models on a website.
