Technology enthusiast Majin Bu stumbled upon an electronics store in China using leaked CAD models to create iPhone 17 Air dummy units for customers to toy around with. This new entry in the iPhone series is rumored to be incredibly thin, with a chassis potentially as slim as 5.5mm at its thinnest point, though the camera bump might be thicker.

Unlike other models in the iPhone 17 lineup, the Air is expected to feature a significant camera redesign. It’s rumored to drop one of its two cameras in favor of a new “camera bar” design. This could mean a horizontal camera module with a single sensor, which might stand out in future store displays as a departure from the traditional diagonal camera layout seen on previous iPhones.

The Air is positioned as a lighter, possibly more affordable premium option compared to the Pro models, replacing the Plus variant. Its design is meant to differentiate it from the standard iPhone 17, which retains a more familiar look. Whatever the case may be, we’re still just over 4-months away from its official unveiling.
