A canceled mid-range Microsoft Surface Duo 2 smartphone has made its way onto eBay as a developer unit, and was promptly removed. What sets it apart from the standard model? It has matte plastic casing with more rounded edges, a smaller rear dual camera bump, and flat displays. Considering the standard Surface Duo 2 retails at $999, this one should have been priced at around $599 – $699 USD.
More specifically, it would be powered by a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, have non-curved displays, a an exterior made entirely of plastic. The standard model boasted a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, a triple rear camera system, and two 5.8-inch (1344 x 1892) curved displays with a 90Hz refresh rate. There was a single $380 bid on the eBay auction, which had a Buy-It-Now price of $750. Unfortunately, this Apple Watch prototype disguised as an iPod Nano never found its way to eBay.
