Agility Robotics RoboFab First Factory Humanoid Robots
Agility Robotics introduces RoboFab, a factory in Salem, Oregon capable of building more than 10,000 of their Digit humanoid robots per year. This 70,000-square-foot facility is set to open this year and will employ more than 500 workers when at full capacity, marking a pivotal moment in the history of robotics as they begin mass producing commercial humanoid robots.

Digit is essentially the world’s first human-centric, multi-purpose robot designed for logistics work such as material handling in warehouses and distribution centers. This humanoid robot will be able to quickly switch between applications depending on current warehouse needs since it was built from the ground up to work in spaces designed for people. It can navigate obstacles and walk on uneven terrain in different environments, all the while handling as well as moving objects.

Not only are we building the world’s first factory for humanoid robots, but we’re doing so in the United States about 30 miles from our engineering center which is fantastic for setting us up to scale quickly. By establishing RoboFab as a state-of-the-art manufacturing hub in Salem, Oregon, we are not only accelerating the development and deployment of advanced robotic systems, but also cultivating innovation and creating high-skilled job opportunities. With the capability to produce Digit at scale, we are poised to change the future of work for the better,” said Aindrea Campbell, Agility Robotics COO.
