Amazon Sphere Office
Sure, the Googleplex in Mountain View, California has been featured in its very own movie (The Internship), but Amazon may take the crown for one of the world’s coolest office spaces. Officially called “The Spheres,” this $4-billion project basically consists of three large glass domes that sit amid Amazon’s business center, designed to serve as a space for employees to work and collaborate with their colleagues in a rainforest-like atmosphere. These fused spheres sit adjacent to Amazon’s Day 1 tower, a 521-foot-tall skyscraper in the heart of downtown Seattle, of which the largest one (middle) stands 90-feet tall and 130-feet wide. Amazon used a total of 620-tons of steel, 12-million pounds of concrete, and 2,642-glass panes to complete these domes. Best of all, there’s even a small dog park that anyone can access.
