AO Racing tackled the Mobile 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in their Porsche 911 GT3 with a special Rawr livery inspired by the Tyrannosaurus Rex this past weekend. This vehicle, nicknamed ‘Rexy’, will be used throughout the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech and World Endurance Championship season in 19 other entries for the GTD class.
Not too much is known about the engine, but GTD vehicles typically produce around 500 hp and weigh around the same or slightly more than the GTLM cars, a combination that produces slightly slower lap times. One easy way to distinguish GTD cars from the others is by their yellow-tinted headlights, which are used to improve visibility at night. They remove blue to violet colors from the wavelength spectrum.

It’s a great event [Twelve Hours of Sebring]. It’s one of the best ones out there. I’m looking forward to driving the Porsche and giving it all we’ve got. It’s my first Twelve Hours of Sebring, which is pretty special for me. It’s a race that my dad has won [Andy Priaulx won the GTE class in a BMW M3 back in 2011] , and one I’d like to win as well,” said Sebastian Priaulx, AO Racing Co-Driver.
