Set to officially be unveiled at WWDC 2023 in June, the Apple Reality Pro AR / VR headset may have immersive video technology, according to a recently uncovered patent. This could be used to view omnidirectional video content where visual data can seemingly be viewed in multiple directions and / or viewing locations, depending on the user’s headset movement.

Rumors have pegged the MSRP of Apple Reality Pro headset to be above $2,499 USD, aimed at the ultra premium market. One reason for that is the purported three-display configuration including two 4K Micro-LED panels. This would make perfect sense to have built-in immersive video technology to fully utilize those displays for gaming, meetings, or just virtual vacations.
