Bloomberg technology journalist Mark Gurman reports that Apple is reportedly working on a smart doorbell with integrated Face ID that could be released as soon as late 2025. If an authorized user approaches the door and passes the Face ID scan, it is automatically unlocked.

Apple’s self-developed Secure Enclave Proxima chip will come built-in, as it stores and processes Face ID information separately from the rest of the system’s hardware to ensure maximum security. If the rumor is true, Apple could possibly release a smart home hub with a 6-inch touchscreen alongside the doorbell. There’s no word yet on pricing or exact availability.
