SEGA’s OutRun was originally released in arcades during September 1986 and known for its cutting edge (at the time) hardware, graphics, nonlinear gameplay, and selectable soundtrack with music composed by Hiroshi Kawaguchi. The main goal was to avoid traffic and reach one of five destinations. Today, Arcade1Up officially unveiled their OutRun driving cabinet, complete with steering wheel brake system and gas pedal. Plus, it adds in Turbo OutRun, OutRunners and PowerDrift as well. Read more for a video and additional information.
Other features include a light-up marquee, large bench seat, 17-inch color LCD, and dual speakers for thumping arcade sounds. It stands 45.8” tall and has bench seat dimensions of 38.5” x 19.8” x 18.5”, which means it probably won’t fit in many apartments / bedrooms. You can order one now directly from Arcade1Up for $499.99, with availability at other retailers coming later this year.
