Yes, a jet-powered Batmobile already exists, but if there was an EV equivalent, it would probably look like the Ariel HIPERCAR. Available in both 4WD and 2WD configurations, its electric powertrain makes 1,180 hp, enabling it to hit 60 mph in just 2.09-seconds. However, with full vectoring its 0-60 mph time could be improved to sub 2-seconds.
It’s based around a lightweight aluminum, bonded chassis structure with aluminum front / rear subframes and a full carbon fiber body. Power comes from a Cosworth 800 Volt, 62kWh lithium-ion, cooled and heated battery pack, which is good for 150 miles on a single charge (WLTP cycle). An optional Cosworth 35kW CatGen (Catalytic Generator) turbine range extender can charge and extend the battery on the move. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability, although the company did mention that it would be priced at under $850,000 USD.
