For those who don’t know, Audi launched a separate China-only brand called AUDI (all caps), and the E5 Sportback is its first model. AUDI skips the iconic four-ring badge for a bold “AUDI” script, signaling a fresh identity tailored for China’s digital-first consumers. It’s built to feel like Audi’s premium DNA but with a distinct, modern twist.
This sleek, four-door coupe with a “Sportback” silhouette, blends minimalist elegance with dynamic lines. It’s evolved from the AUDI E concept shown last year, retaining design cues like slim LED headlights, a blacked-out front and rear integrating lights and sensors, and flush door handles. It features virtual side mirrors, a roof-mounted lidar sensor (likely for advanced driver assistance), and Matrix LED headlights with intelligent zoning to avoid dazzling other drivers.

Built on the new Advanced Digitized Platform (ADP), co-developed with SAIC, using an 800V architecture for fast charging and efficiency. AUDI plans to offers four drive variants: rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, with the top end model delivering 776 hp.
A 100 kWh battery provides a maximum range of up to 478 miles (CLTC, China’s test cycle), while fast charging can add 186 miles in 10 minutes on high-powered DC chargers.
The interior is a tech wonder, built around the AUDI OS, run by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. A 27-inch 4K wide screen stretches across the dashboard, letting you change its layout and easily connect with China’s digital ecosystem (like apps, smartphone connectivity, and face recognition). It also boasts an AI-powered AUDI Assistant (a touch- and voice-controlled avatar) for intuitive interaction. Comfort highlights include adaptive air suspension, four-wheel steering, ambient lighting, a duft diffuser with three aromas, and a cooled wireless charging pad for smartphones. The cabin uses premium materials and hidden air vents for a clean, luxurious vibe.
Market launch is set for late summer 2025, with orders likely opening around then. No pricing details yet, but expect it to be competitive with premium Chinese EVs like the NIO ET5 or Xpeng P7
