Audi A6 Avant E-Tron Concept
There are plenty of electric sedans, SUVs and even sports cars, but here’s what could be the first station wagon. Meet the Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept. It’s powered by dual electric motors that generate 470 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque fed by a 100 kWh battery good for 300+ miles of range on a single charge, or 186-miles in just 10-minutes using just 270 kW charging. What really stands out are its Digital Matrix LED front headlights, along with the three small, high-resolution LED projectors built into each side of the body.

Not just basic headlights, the the Digital Matrix LED front headlights can be used as projectors if parked in front of a wall during a break to recharge the battery. That’s right, this mean the driver and passengers can use the headlights to play a video game projecting the image onto a wall. Step around the rear, and you’ll see a new generation of digital OLED elements, including a continuous strip of lights, that act like a display. It’s set to go on sale next year, with pricing yet to be announced.

With the Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept, we are offering a completely tangible look at future production models on our new PPE technology platform. We’re not just electrifying the Avant’s successful 45-year history. What we want most of all is to use technical skill to add an exclamation point. In particular, this includes powerful 800 volt technology, 270 kW of charging capacity, and a WLTP range of up to 700 kilometers (435 miles),” said Oliver Hoffmann, Audi Board Member for Technical Development.
