Pebble founder Eric Migicovsky unveils BeepBerry, a Raspberry Pi-powered pocket computer sporting a BlackBerry keypad. Featuring a Sharp Memory 2.7-inch (400 x 240) E-ink display, Raspberry Pi Zero W board, 16MB of internal flash storage, a backlit tactile keypad, touchpad, an RP2040 MCU, and a 2,000mAh battery.
Programmable RGB LED notifications keep you up to date, while a programmable side button can be used with Beeper, an all-in-one messaging app. However, you must be somewhat familiar with Linux to take full advantage of the device. One more caveat: no case is included, which means you’ll either have to 3D print one or buy it separately. Available for pre-order now without a Raspberry Pi Zero W ($79) or with the board ($99), with both versions shipping in August and September respectively. More information here.
