BMW Motrrad Concept CE 02 Urban Mobility
BMW Motorrad’s all-new Concept CE 02 aims to offer a new interpretation of smart, urban single-track mobility a week ahead of the IAA Mobility 2021 show. The electric vehicle is not a classic motorcycle or scooter, but rather an electric bike of sorts powered by an 11-kW motor. It has a top speed of 90 km/h (56 mph) and a range of at least 90 km (56 miles) on a single charge.

Its minimalist design includes a square, black headlight with four distinctive LED elements as front headlights, while the rear boasts two small, translucent LED affixed to the left / right sides of the seat. There’s a small display on the handlebars that provide basic display functionality. On the technical side, disc wheels and the single-sided swinging arm are used to showcase various elements, like the drive belt, handlebars and fork.

At first glance, there is little about the BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02 that is typically BMW Motorrad – it’s something completely new. We want to strive for something novel and be pioneers – which is what we’ve proven ourselves capable of with various projects in the past. The Concept CE 02 features new proportions and modern forms of single-track mobility in an urban environment. In addition, we wanted to achieve a level of design innovation that we have not had before at this level. Straightforward use was important, but above all the emotional component was crucial, as well as riding fun,” said Edgar Heinrich, Head of Design BMW Motorrad.
