BOLT Carnival Mardis Gras Cruise Ship Roller Coaster
Carnival Cruise Line’s Mardi Gras recently set sail on its inaugural sailing, and this ship features BOLT, the first-ever roller coaster at sea. Offering guests around 800-feet of intense twists, turns and drops, all the while reaching speeds of nearly 40 miles per hour. This is an all-electric roller coaster that seats two riders in a motorcycle-like vehicle to race along a track 187-feet above sea level.

The company claims that it achieves “race car-like levels” of acceleration and finishes off with a high-powered hair-pin turn around Carnival’s iconic funnel. For some added fun, speeds are posted after the race, and just like its land-based counterpart, guests will have their photo taken during the attraction. Unlike its land-based counterpart, guests can choose their own speed, so each ride is unique.
