China Customs Woman Smuggle Intel CPUs Fake Pregnancy
China Customs discovered that a woman was trying to smuggle a batch of semiconductor chips and iPhones when attempting to cross from Macau into Zhuhai on November 25th. When questioned, the woman stated that she was around 5-6 months pregnant, despite her bump being the size you’d typically see in the third trimester (27 to 40 weeks).

During the inspection, they found a total of 202 Intel CPUs and 9 iPhones hidden inside the prosthetic belly, with everything held together by scotch tape. Why would someone go into such great lengths for these seemingly low value items? tax evasion to the next level. Import taxes of course, and it’s not because of the recent restrictions on exporting high-end semiconductor chips to China. There is a large market for these gray market items, and they typically sell for many times what you’d pay in a retail store.
