After a seemingly long break, TeaserPlay is back with a Clash of Clans remake that pictures the game as a third-person open-world RPG, using Unreal Engine 5’s cutting-edge tools like Lumen, Nanite, and ray-tracing. The demo shows amazing visuals, turning the top-down mobile game into a deep experience with detailed settings and gameplay inspired by RPG styles.
It’s only a concept, but Supercell could tap into Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) to make Clash of Clans better in lots of ways, improving its looks, gameplay, and performance while holding onto its core mobile strategy appeal. To start, UE5’s dynamic global illumination system could bring lifelike lighting to villages, battles, and environments. Things like day-night cycles, moving shadows, and shiny surfaces (like water or polished buildings) could make the game feel more lively without slowing down phones, thanks to Lumen’s real-time rendering tricks.

Nanite, a virtual geometry system, lets you add super detailed models without hurting performance. Supercell could remake buildings, troops, and landscapes with fine details—like fancy Town Halls or textured ground—while keeping the game smooth on average smartphones. For example, troops could move more naturally, with flowing capes or detailed armor.

UE5’s ability to manage big, connected worlds could let players explore beyond their village in a semi-open-world mode. Picture a PvE campaign where you roam a 3D Clash world, attack NPC bases, or find hidden resources, kind of like the dungeon exploration in Project Rise.

Also, the game engine’s Chaos Physics and improved animation tools could make battles more lively. Troop movements, building collapses, and spell effects could look real—like walls breaking into rubble or explosions with shockwaves. Supercell’s Clash Heroes used UE5 for smooth combat animations, showing what it can do.

Smoother, more movie-like battles would make Clan Wars and multiplayer raids more exciting to watch, also boosting the game’s appeal for Clash of Clans eSports tournaments.

These visual upgrades would freshen up the game’s 2D isometric style, drawing in new players and keeping longtime fans happy with a new look. Supercell’s work with Squeeze Animation Studios on UE5-powered Clash of Clans animations for marketing shows they’re already trying this; using it in the game itself seems like a logical next step.
