CrossFire: Rainbow Trailer Gameplay Tencent
Halloween is creeping in and Tencent’s new game, CrossFire: Rainbow, is ready to drag you into a dark corner of the CrossFire universe. This first-person horror shooter from Linlangtianshang Studio under Smilegate’s supervision isn’t just another tactical FPS in the franchise—it’s a full on horror game.

A new trailer just dropped and it’s almost 4 minutes of in-game footage. Linlangtianshang, the studio behind last year’s Delta Force, has warped the familiar CrossFire battlefield into something sinister. Players enter the “Rainbow Erosion Area”, a place where reality is fraying and the line between friend and foe is blurred.

Gameplay is a mix of player-versus-player and player-versus-environment, a combo they call PVPVE. You’ll be fighting other players while facing monsters that don’t play by the rules of conventional warfare. A standout feature is the “Sanity Value” system, a mechanic that hints at psychological horror. As you face the terrors of the Rainbow Erosion Area, your character’s grip on reality could slip and turn allies into enemies—or even make you your own worst nightmare. The tagline “Face your fears or become them” suggests a system where mental strain could shift allegiances, making you question every move you make.

Visually, the game looks stunning, likely powered by Unreal Engine 5 though Tencent hasn’t confirmed it. The trailer’s textures, lighting and atmosphere are next-gen quality. Unlike the CrossFire games before it, which were all about competitive multiplayer, this one seems to be carving out space for co-op or campaign play.

Rumors are circulating about a story mode but details are scarce. What’s clear is the game wants to merge the adrenaline of tactical shooting with the horror of horror. You’ll still have an arsenal of guns but the enemies here aren’t just rival mercenaries—they’re otherworldly horrors that require quick thinking and steady aim.

CrossFire: Rainbow is slated to be published on PC, iOS, and Android, and Tencent’s track record with mobile ports, as shown in CrossFire: Legends, suggests that the game’s core experience will be maintained across platforms. There is no definite release date, and the absence of Steam or Epic Games Store pages makes the timeframe unclear.
