CryZENx has just released a new 30-minute preview of the Zelda Ocarina of Time remake in Unreal Engine 5.5. This teaser focuses on Kakariko Village, a peaceful village situated near Hyrule Castle Town, one that Link passes through in order to reach Goron City to recover the Goron’s Ruby.
Additional details were added to the map, and now you can also enter some houses now. What’s next? CryZENx is currently working on Road to Zora, or the a region inhabited by the Zora race. Players can access this area by following the Zora River from Kakariko Village, where you need to play “Zelda’s Lullaby” at a waterfall to gain entry. If I’m noticing it correctly, you expanded the size of the interiors and scaled up the exterior to make Link feel smaller and more childlike. It also brings the camera down, forcing us to look up at things – especially on the dialogue camera. It’s a great effect. They used the same technique in Halo if you can believe it: adjusting the crosshair down as well so that most of the environment was above eye-level. It made everything feel enormous. It’s a great technique to fake scale,” said one commenter.
