DJI Agras T30 Spraying Drone Pest Control Maldives
There’s the Amazon Prime Air MK30, and then DJI’s Agras T30 spraying drone, which is now being used for pest control in the Maldives. The Smart Agriculture Cloud Platform leverages an AI recognition system to patrol fields, identify growth, monitor disease or pests, and monitor agricultural conditions efficiently.

These drones are being used to control the population of the hairy caterpillar (Euproctis fraterna), a small bug that poses a big threat to everyday life in the Maldives. Unlike manual spraying, the Agras T30 can reach hairy caterpillar infestations high up in the Indian Almond tree canopies that are a natural fit for the technology, thus reducing the overall amount of pesticide applied.

DJI Agras T30 Spraying Drone Pest Control Maldives

It takes time before this sort of method hits the mainstream pest control market. People live with dogmas and to change the market and the attitude of people that are involved takes time,. But I think the momentum certainly is there. The world is starting to realize that we not only have problems with climate change, but we have major problems with the collapse of biodiversity globally. And we simply have to move away from the way we have done things in the past. We have no choice,” said Dr. Bart Knols, Mosquito Biologist.
