DJI Power 2000 Portable Power Station
DJI, the company famous for drones and slick camera gear, has jumped deeper into the power game with the DJI Power 2000, a beefy 2,048Wh battery station that’s ready for just about anything. Launched on July 2, 2025, this thing’s built tough and packs a punch with a steady 3,000W output, super-fast charging, and a design that’s all about keeping your gear juiced up no matter where you are.

This power station’s got a compact, 16-inch frame that’s about the size of a small carry-on, but at just under 50 pounds, it’s not exactly a featherweight. Still, its 32.6L body tucks neatly into a car trunk or RV storage. The front’s loaded with ports to cover all your needs—four AC outlets, four USB-A, a pair of 140W USB-C, two 65W USB-C, plus two SDC ports for DJI drone batteries and a couple of ¼-inch mounts for extra accessories. It’s like a charging hub for everything from your phone to a power drill. “We kicked off our Power Series a little over a year ago to keep up with what users need,” says Christina Zhang, DJI’s Senior Director of Corporate Strategy. “With folks asking for more juice for all kinds of situations, we built this beefier model to deliver.”

Plug it into a wall outlet, and it hits 80% in just 55 minutes, fully charged in about 90. If you’re off-grid, it can handle up to 1,800W of solar power, topping off in roughly 75 minutes with the right panels, or you can charge it in a car in about 145 minutes with a 1kW or 1.8kW fast charger. The smart hybrid system leans on solar when you mix it with grid power, saving money and cutting down on waste. That makes it a go-to for RV camping or powering a film shoot in the middle of nowhere.

What makes this thing stand out is how it scales. You can hook up to 10 DJI Power Expansion Battery 2000 units, each adding another 2,048Wh, for a wild total of 22,528Wh. That’s enough to keep a film set churning or your house running through a long blackout. Its Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) mode flips to battery power in a lightning-fast 0.01 seconds, so stuff like CPAP machines or Wi-Fi routers won’t skip a beat. “From outdoor adventures to emergency backups or film production, our Power Series opens up endless possibilities,” Zhang says, and it’s easy to see why.

This thing’s built like a tank. With a lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) battery, it’s good for 4,000 charge cycles—think 10 years of daily use while still holding 80% of its juice. A special sub-nano coating keeps the inverter safe from rain, humidity, or even salty coastal air, so it’s ready for rough spots like beach campsites or high-altitude roads. It’s got 26 temperature sensors and 21 fuses to keep an eye on heat and power surges, and DJI says it can handle a ton of static weight—though you probably won’t be testing that with your car.

The DJI Home app makes things easy, letting you check battery levels, tweak settings, or turn outputs on and off from your phone. Some reviewers, like the folks at Electrek, weren’t thrilled about needing the app to get started, but it’s pretty straightforward and gives you real-time control over the Power 2000 and any expansion batteries. DJI calls the app “simple and user-friendly,” and it lives up to that, keeping power management smooth and hassle-free.

In action, the Power 2000’s a beast. It can charge a camera 118 times, a smartphone 114 times, or a drone 24 times, making it a must-have for photographers or filmmakers out in the wild. At home, it’ll keep a fridge running for 38 hours, a microwave for 2.6 hours, or an electric chainsaw for almost an hour. For drone fans, those SDC ports pump out up to 240W to fast-charge batteries for models like the Mavic 3 or Inspire 3, cutting downtime in half. Priced at $1,299, it’s not a budget buy, but its solid build and performance make it a strong contender against flimsier options.
