Energizer P18K Electric Battery Indiegogo

You’d think a smartphone claiming to offer 50-days of battery life would sell like hotcakes, right? Well possibly, that is if…it didn’t look like an actual brick. The Energizer P18K Pop Smartphone campaign on Indiegogo received only 11 backers, who contributed a total of around $15,000, with perks including a single device at $549 up to a three-pack for $1,587. The crowdfunding campaign was seeking $1.2 million, but only reached 1 percent of its target. Read more for two additional videos and information.

Is a single handset worth $549? Energizer says the P18K Pop sports fast-charge assistance, which means an 85% charge in just 30 minutes. You also get a 6.2-inch LCD display, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, a pop-up selfie camera, 12MP triple rear camera setup, all running on Android 9.0 OS.

“The crowdfunding campaign promised the phones would be delivered in October this year, but it appears that won’t be happening now. The huge target does suggest it was all a marketing stunt, however: it’s hard to believe the company truly believed they could raise over $1 million with a phone that wouldn’t fit in a clutch bag, never mind a pocket,” reports Engadget.
