Ice cream vans may be tougher to find nowadays, but what if there were more eco-friendly options? Meet the Fiat 500e Convertible ‘Gelateria Edition’. This one-off EV puts a new twist on the traditional ice cream van by fitting a 500e Convertible with an entirely custom interior so a server is able to freely move around and serve gelato to customers over the rear of the car.
Aesthetically, it bosats a two-tone color finish evoking the spirit of a classic Italian gelateria of the 1950s, complete with cream colored wheels to match. Inside, you’ll find frozen gelato trays mounted above a bespoke cabinet containing dual battery-powered freezers storing up to 30 liters of gelato, or enough to serve 300 people per day. A folding fabric roof down can be raised to provide shade for the gelato flavors and server beneath. Plus, deck chairs can be stored inside the car for use by customers on hot summer days.

While the one-off FIAT 500e Gelateria Edition remains a one-off UK concept, based on the 500e Convertible, it is a zero-emission solution that demonstrates the car’s versatility in city environments.
