The Kilauea Volcano has been erupting for several days now, and lava, up to 10-feet deep, has now made its way to the nearby neighborhood of Leilani Estates. In addition to the 26 homes that the lava has destroyed, it has also swallowed a fourth-generation Ford Mustang whole, which was parked seemingly safely on the side of the road. “There’s no word on why the vehicle’s owner didn’t get the Mustang out of the path of destruction but it’s possible they simply didn’t have enough time when the evacuations went into effect. Regardless of the reason, the car was no match for the slow moving lava as video from the scene shows the lava flow eventually reaching the car and setting the tires on fire. The flow then pushes the car further off the side of the road as it becomes engulfed in flames,” report Car Scoops.
