Remember the RB26-powered Mustang from ‘The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift’? Well, automotive enthusiast TJ Hunt has built his own Ford Mustang GT350 Fastback powered by a Nissan GT-R engine. First, he needed to acquire an RB26DETT engine from a friend before spending a year modifying and reinforcing its internals.
Modifications include reinforced motor mounts, an upgraded intake manifold, tuned power steering, a heavy duty transmission, a Magnaflow exhaust system, and custom HRE alloy wheels. Surprisingly, the interior looks nothing like a Nissan GT-R, as it retained most of the Ford Mustang GT350 Fastback parts, aside from the digital instrument cluster. Even with all that went into this build, it’s still probably more affordable than this screen-used 1994 Toyota Supra ‘Fast & Furious’ movie car, which sold for $550,000 USD.
