Cummins Diesel Engine Ford Mustang

Swapping a Cummins diesel engine into a Ford Mustang GT500 body may sound straightforward, but auto enthusiast Westen Champlin ran into plenty of issues. They ranged from fuel problems to leaking injectors, but after lots of elbow grease, everything came together. Now, this turbocharged beast is capable of running on high boost and looks cool doing so. Read more for two videos and additional information.

Unlike a traditional Mustang, this Cummins diesel engine has an exhaust that exits directly from the engine bay and all the wiring had to be redone. As of now, there’s no way to reinstall the factory hood, but with some modifications, we imagine a custom version fitting like a glove. On a related note, did you know that the most popular Cummins engine may be the 5.9-liter in-line six-cylinder engine used in the Dodge Ram light duty pickups?
