Finally, Samsung can no longer single out the iPhone 5 for Apple Maps, because Google has just released a dedicated Maps app that sky rocketed to #1 within 24-hours. Simply enter either the name of the destination (restaurant, theme park, etc.) or address into the search box at the top, and you’ll be ready to navigate. In addition to voice turn-by-turn directions, there’s also public transport directions, live traffic information, along with rotating 2D / 3D views and even Street View to boot. That’s not all, an expandable info sheet at the bottom, shows the address, opening hours, ratings and reviews, images, directions and other information for many destinations. It’s currently available for the iPhone and iPod Touch (4th gen) iOS 5.1 and higher.
