Hacksmith has been busy this year, building a real-life Master Chief helmet and a fully-functional Batman signal, but the largest Thor hammer ever just might be his biggest project yet, literally. First, he machined precision cut stainless steel pieces and the result was the slightly larger than average hammer that you see above. Unfortunately, his machines just weren’t large enough, so he outsourced the steel pieces to an external company.
Once the massive stainless steel pieces were delivered to Hacksmith Industries, the team started welding all of the pieces together with a few helpers. One of the main issues they ran into was the warping on many of the stainless steel pieces due to their size, but eventually, it all came together in the end. A forklift was required to connect the throat before the entire 4,000+ pound hammer was galvanized to prevent it from rusting.
