It’s been years, but allegedly, Half-Life 3 is still in development. For gamers wanting something to hold them over, there’s Half-Life 2: Episode 3, based on Marc Laidlaw’s Epistle 3. The latter is essentially a plot outline posted by former Valve lead writer Marc Laidlaw and represents a snapshot of what Episode Three could have been.
We won’t spoil the entire story, although those who have read the outline know that it starts with the memorial service for Eli Vance and the Rebellion’s subsequent decision to go to the coordinates described by Judith Mossman. Gordon and Alyx then fly towards the Arctic but are downed before reaching it. You can download it here now.
