The aircraft itself boasts a titanium construction designed to withstand ultra-high speeds, powered by a turbine-based combined cycle (TBCC) propulsion system. In other words, the aircraft uses a conventional turbojet to accelerate to a high enough speed for a ramjet or scramjet to take over.
