Hyatt Now Lets You Unlock Hotel Rooms with Apple Wallet on iPhone or Apple Watch

Hyatt guests at six locations across the US can now seamlessly and securely tap their iPhone or Apple Watch to unlock guestrooms and key card-protected common areas (fitness centers, pools, elevators, etc.). To get started, all guests need is the World of Hyatt app, where they can then add their room key to Apple Wallet after completing a reservation.

After you add the room key in Apple Wallet, the app will let them know when it’s activated, while showing the room number. It will not activate until the guest is checked into the hotel and a guestroom has been assigned. Best of all, these room keys in Apple Wallet are stored on your device, taking full advantage of the privacy and security built into these devices.
