IBM World's Smallest Computer
Smaller than a grain of fancy salt, IBM has unveiled a computer touted as the world’s smallest, measuring 1mm x 1mm, and it reportedly costs less than 10-cents to make. The top image of a chip on a fingertip shows a total of 64 motherboards, with each containing two of these tiny computers.

The computer features a processor with several hundred thousand transistors, SRAM memory, photo-voltaic cell for power, photo-detector, and an LED-equipped communications unit. It’s designed to be a data source for blockchain applications, while also capable of performing basic AI tasks. In related news, did you know that IBM was founded back in 1911 in Endicott, New York. It was initially known as the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company (CTR), but later renamed “International Business Machines” in 1924.
