
The IBM Quantum System 2 is the base for scalable quantum computation, and now fully operational at the company’s lab in Yorktown Heights, NY. It measures 22 feet wide, 12 feet high, and boasts three IBM Quantum Heron processors.
This system combines cryogenic infrastructure with third-generation control electronics and classical runtime servers. Put simply, it’s essentially the modular-architecture quantum computing platform that IBM will use to realize parallel circuit executions for quantum-centric supercomputing.
