id Software DOOM Video Game Modding Ray Tracing
The classic DOOM first-person shooter game by id Software was first released in 1993 for MS-DOS and was distributed freely as shareware. In just 2-years, it was already being played by 15–20 million people. One modder decided to give it a modern update in the form of ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS support. Let’s just say that some are comparing this game with the mod to DOOM 3, as the dim hallways are now illuminated with details.

The PRBoom+RT mod doesn’t require too much to install, as after unzipping the file in its own directory, just paste an original Doom “WAD” file into the same directory. Next, run the EXE, and you’re ready to go. For further customization, make sure to mess with the mod’s menus to further enhance the graphics to your liking. Download it here now.
