IKEA Little Sun Sammanlankad Solar
IKEA teamed up with social business Little Sun to launch two solar-powered LED lamps. Launching April 2023 in select markets, both models have designs inspired by the Sun and how the Earth rotates around it. The light source is shaped like a half-sphere, which is furthger enhanced through the reflection of a mirror to create a shining sun.

The lamp’s adjustable metal frame holds the light source, enabling you to use it as a pendant or table lamp. Need a flashlight? Simple remove the light source, and you’re ready to go. Both come equipped with solar panels and rechargeable batteries, which can be powered up through either USB-A or USB-C when sunlight isn’t available. The smaller lamp will be priced at around $13.62 USD, while the larger one at $99.

If we are to transition to a world powered by renewable energy in the next decade, we need everyone to recognise the opportunity of solar energy. Sunlight is seemingly invisible, but solar energy allows us to make the invisible visible. The collaboration with IKEA supports our mission to raise awareness for energy access and reminds us that we have the potential to co-shape our world”, said Olafur Eliasson, artist and co-founder of Little Sun.
