Invisible Mirror Cabin Arcana
While not as daring as the cliff-hanging Air Cabin, this mirror cabin by Arcana was designed to blend into its surrounding forest in Ontario, Canada. The designers were aiming for something that respected the ‘power and beauty’ of nature, while still being safe to wildlife. To accomplish this, they applied a film to all of the reflective surfaces that allows birds to identify the cabin as an object in the landscape.

Step inside, and you’ll discover a minimalist Scandinavian interior design, complete with maple walls as well as stainless steel accents, while a “portal” window offers expansive views of the forest directly from the bed. There’s also a full kitchen, private bathroom with a rainfall showerhead, as well as a grill-equipped private deck. Most importantly, you won’t need a portable generator, as there’s electricity and running water.

As a brand that’s rooted in respecting the power and beauty of nature, it’s been a priority to design our structures so that they aren’t a hazard to birds and other creatures that reside in Arcana’s habitat. To ease the transition from the hinterland to the heartland, we’ve designed them with basic luxuries, such as electricity and running water,” said Leckie Studio and Aruliden to Dezeen.
