Jacob & Co. has just launched “Fast & Furious Twin Turbo,” a limited-edition watch that combines elements from Universal Pictures’ franchise with the luxury brand that is “Inspired By The Impossible.” The main feature is a large sapphire crystal face with imagery iconic to the first “Fast & Furious” film from 2001, consisting of a starting girl with checkered flags and race cars ready to live life a quarter mile at a time.
Limited to just 9 examples worldwide and priced at $580,000 USD, the watch’s racing theme carries over to its twin triple-axis tourbillons that rotate in unison at lightning-fast speeds of 24, 48 and 180 seconds, providing a stunning visual impact. The details don’t stop there, in between is the power reserve indicator that resembles a fuel gauge and a monopusher chronograph that uses a horizontal clutch system operated by a column wheel. The complication is then linked to the chronograph’s pusher built into the crown-crank system on the right side of the case. Simply put, one pusher starts, stops and resets the chronograph.
