Jet-Powered Smart Car
Rocketbilly Racing has built the world’s first jet-powered Smart car, thanks to a helicopter-sourced engine boasting 2,000 horsepower. The vehicle is a standard 2008 model that is now capable of of reaching a top speed of 220mph, thanks to a high-performance General Electric T58-GE03 gas turbine engine. Believe it or not, owner Bill Berg, has managed to keep the vehicle street-legal, and now, travels the world showing off his fiery creation. Its speed is estimated at 220 mph, and Bill Berg says the jet-powered ForTwo says will hit 160-170 mph in approximately 9 seconds, while burning some 15 gallons of fuel in about 5 minutes. To keep the vehicle street legal, there’s functioning headlights, taillights, turn signals, wipers and even factory air conditioning.

“Berg says that, for the right price, anything’s for sale, except probably for this ForTwo, which is already part of the family. However, he would gladly sell you other crazy jet-powered toys, made by his company called Rocketbilly Racing. After all, he’s also the owner of the world’s fastest ATV and school bus,” according to Car Scoops.
