Lightyear One Solar Car
One vehicle that may have been overlooked at CES 2020 is the Lightyear One, an electric vehicle covered in solar panels that claims to achieve 450-miles of range from its built-in battery. The five square meters of solar panels cover its roof / hood and is capable of charging the car’s battery with up to 7.5-miles of range an hour. The Lightyear One can also be charged like a normal plug-in electric vehicle and supports up to 60kW of fast charging, giving it 315-miles of range per hour of charge. It comes equipped with a total of four electric motors, and right now, the company is taking preorders for the first 500 Lightyear One cars now for $135,000.
