Robot dogs are nothing new, but what about a smart home AI robot cat? Introducing Maicat. This autonomous robot can roam freely around your home and watch for anything out of the ordinary. In case it comes across something unusual, you’ll be alerted instantly through the Maicat app.
Maicat can express its emotions through two OLED eyes and a speaker. It can remembers its family and friends to create diverse responses depending on its biorhythm-generated mood and its interactions with them. When the camera located below its nose is paired with a microphone below its ear is combined with powerful AI recognition, Maicat can sense people’s actions, moods, as well as behaviors. It’s currently in production, with official pricing yet to be announced, but pre-orders on Kickstarter previously sold for as low as $699 USD.
