Meta Store Burlingame Tour
At 1550-square-feet, the physical Meta Store in Burlingame, California is located near the company’s Reality Labs headquarters. It’s set to open to the public on May 9th, and visitors will be able to get hands-on with the Meta Portal, Ray-Ban Stories, and a new immersive Meta Quest 2 demo. Put simply, you’ll be able to try and interact with just about everything on display.

What the company really wants to showcase is its Meta Quest 2 display wall, which enables visitors to explore the hardware, accessories, and the most popular content available today. The immersive demo area lets you try Beat Saber, GOLF+, Real VR Fishing or Supernatural on a wall-to-wall curved LED screen that shows what you’re seeing in-headset. Coolest of all, you’ll be able to get a 30-second mixed reality clip of your demo experience to share on social media. Unfortunately (or fortunately), you won’t find Takara Tomy’s Ami-chan robotic grandchild there.

Once people experience the technology, they can gain a better appreciation for it. If we did our job right, people should leave and tell their friends, ‘You’ve got to go check out the Meta Store.’ Having the store here in Burlingame gives us more opportunity to experiment and keep the customer experience core to our development. What we learn here will help define our future retail strategy,” said Martin Gilliard, Head of Meta Store.
