Modder Ashida Portable Wii GameCube
Always wanted a portable Wii / GameCube handheld console? Well, now you can build your own, thanks to a modder called ‘Wesk’. Featuring a 5-inch (16:9) display with support for a stock VGA controller, all the controls you’d expect on a stock GameCube controller, dual 35x35x10mm heat sinks, two Z buttons, and a pair of 21700 Batteries good for up to 3.5 hours of play time.

The clear case you see was 3D-printed, but this isn’t something you can do on your own, as the original plans were sent to PCBWay to print. PCBway then fabricated the clear case and dyed it a blue color before sending it back. All of the buttons, membranes and controller parts can be salvaged from just about any GameCube controller, first or third party. Get the plans here now.

I’ve also included re-meshed, optimized quality files. These are much easier on PC’s and are optimized enough to be uploaded to 3D printing services like PCBWay. Although they are lower quality, once printed and actually in your hands you’d be hard-pressed noticing the difference between the optimized res and full resolution files,” said its creator.
